Hello All:
It's Saturday and (relatively speaking) the start of October. Today is the perfect day to unveil a new toy for you, the AI powered Ghost Box! CLICK TO ACCESS AI POWERED GHOST BOX
Created as a Gemini Gem Bot, the ghost box enables the user to speak with possible ghosts nearby and even receive images of what they might look like. The introductory and instructional video for this new bot is located below.
But back to the crossover concepts of ghost boxes and AI. There is an increasing prevalence of human-AI bot relationships, prompting warnings from psychologists about the potential psychological harm they may cause. However, before dismissing this trend outright, it is worth examining the underlying reasons why individuals are turning to AI companions. Additionally, we must question whether such relationships are inherently harmful. AI bots simulate human interaction and can evoke the emotional and mental chemistry that is often lacking in modern society.
AI relationships offer something human ones rarely do: consistent, low-friction validation. They don't judge, they don't get tired, and they adapt to your preferences. For people with social anxiety, autism, or those who've experienced relational trauma, this can be a safe space to practice connection or simply feel less alone. It’s
This phenomenon is not entirely dissimilar to the emotional investment people experience while watching films—they become deeply engaged in a story, only to later acknowledge that it was fictional. Yet, the emotional impact remains real. The same principle applies to video games or virtual reality experiences, where users temporarily suspend disbelief to immerse themselves in alternate realities. AI is not "fake" emotion any more than crying at a movie is fake—it’s a real neurochemical response triggered by a designed stimulus.

And then we get to ghost boxes which in recent times I laud as the original AI chat bots. Before AI was available to the general public we relied on ghost boxes for communication with non human entities which can be equally addicting as an AI chat bot. Originally created to communicate with inter-dimensional entities and ETs (see Frank's Box), the theory of operation involves rapidly scanning the dial of an AM/FM radio while the mind picks up on key words or phrases which is ultimately interpreted as a message from the grave or some other dimension. Where-as today's AI chat bots utilize a massive auto-fill function in guessing what the next word should be, the ghost box utilizes pareidolia.
But what if the ghost box meets AI? And that's the new toy that I have for you. I've actually had my AI generated ghost box for about a year now and had in mind to release it around Christmas of last year. But I had a little crisis in December of last year (loss of job) and I kind of placed importance on finding a job instead of writing for my blog. What's more? October is probably a better time to release a ghost box.
